Barbedwire Studios Announced the Polish DLC Faction for Call to Arms – Gates of Hell
Barbedwire Studios has revealed Poland as the next playable faction coming to Call to Arms – Gates of Hell. The new faction will be released as paid DLC and is being developed alongside Content Update 7, a major free update for all players.
The announcement was made on September 1, the anniversary of the invasion of Poland and the beginning of the World War II in Europe. A new First to Fight trailer offers the first look at the upcoming faction.
A New Faction Enters the Battlefield
Poland will become the next nation represented in the growing Call to Arms – Gates of Hell roster. Barbedwire Studios has not yet disclosed the full contents of the DLC or its release date, but more information about the faction will be shared in future development blogs.
Developed with GEM2, Call to Arms – Gates of Hell combines real-time strategy with detailed tactical combat and a strong focus on historical authenticity. Players can command infantry, artillery and military vehicles across single-player campaigns, the dynamic Conquest mode, online cooperative battles and competitive multiplayer.
Since its release in 2021, the game has continued to expand through new factions, campaigns, maps, vehicles and gameplay improvements introduced through both paid DLC and free content updates.
Content Update 7
The Polish faction is being developed alongside Content Update 7, which Barbedwire Studios describes as a substantial new stage in the game’s ongoing development.
The update will be completely free for all players. Although its full scope has not yet been revealed, the developers have introduced two of its major areas of work: renewed Ostfront environments and a significant expansion of Conquest mode.
Updated Ostfront Environments
The development of Poland has given the team an opportunity to revisit some of the environmental assets created for the original Ostfront content.
The Polish faction makes extensive use of these environments. However, the game’s visual standards have continued to evolve through its more recent DLCs. As part of Content Update 7, many of the original Ostfront assets are therefore being updated to bring them closer to the level of visual quality established by the newer content.
Further details about the environmental changes, including their impact on existing battlefields, will be presented in a future development blog.
One of the Largest Conquest Updates Yet
Content Update 7 will also introduce one of the most substantial updates yet to Conquest, the game’s dynamic campaign mode.
Conquest allows players to develop their army and carry its surviving units and equipment from one procedurally generated battle to the next. The mode has been continuously expanded since the game’s release, and CU7 is expected to represent another major step in its development.
Barbedwire Studios has not yet revealed the individual changes coming to the mode, but a dedicated development blog will provide a more detailed overview in the future.
We are glad to see Call to Arms – Gates of Hell continue to grow and evolve, and we look forward to learning more about Poland and Content Update 7.
