While we were working on the next update, Fulqrum Publishing contacted us with a decision to change the name of Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. They argued that this change helps the game stand out better, so the returning players distinguish the improved Steam version from the older retail releases.
They provided us with Remastered and Enhanced Edition as the two possible names for the updated version of Soldiers. After internal discussion, we felt that Remastered didn’t accurately describe the nature of the update. Since the game’s visuals and assets remain unchanged, that term could set unrealistic expectations.
Instead, our work has been focused on upgrading core systems, improving stability, and ensuring compatibility with modern hardware. Because of this, Enhanced Edition more closely reflects the improvements we’ve made.
We shared our perspective with Fulqrum Publishing, and the Enhanced Edition ultimately aligned with both sides’ understanding of the update. That’s why the game now carries the title Soldiers: Heroes of World War II Enhanced Edition.
